Troubleshooting

Most issues are one of these. If you don't see your problem here, email support@filmina.app.

The filter isn't applying

Reload the tab. If you installed or updated Filmina while the tab was already open, the content script hasn't injected — a refresh fixes it.

Netflix / Disney+ shows a black screen

Filmina automatically falls back to the CSS pipeline on DRM platforms, but some configurations still trip up. Try:

  • Open the popup → More → Auto and set Pipeline to CSS + SVG.
  • Reload the tab.
  • If the black screen persists, disable Filmina for that site via the toolbar toggle.

YouTube thumbnails look filtered too

On busy YouTube pages, Filmina occasionally tags preview thumbnails as videos. Pick the Natural preset or enable Smart Mode in More → Auto — it detects multi-video layouts and tones the grade down.

My custom looks disappeared

Chrome occasionally clears extension storage when an extension is uninstalled and reinstalled. Always export your looks first (Modes → … → Export) before uninstalling. Imports accept the JSON file from any device.

Pro features locked after purchase

License sync runs once every 24 hours. Open the popup → More → Access and click Refresh license. If that fails, see Recover license.

The page itself broke after I enabled Filmina

Filmina only touches <video> elements; it doesn't modify page DOM or scripts. If a site broke, please file a report — include the URL and a screenshot. The fix is usually a one-line video-selection rule in our platform table.
