Getting started
Install & first run
1. Install from the Chrome Web Store
Filmina ships as a single extension for Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Opera. Click Install and accept the permissions prompt. Filmina asks for activeTab, storage, and tabs — nothing
that lets us read page content or your browsing history.
2. Open any video
Visit YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, or any page with a <video> element. Filmina auto-attaches as soon as the player loads — you'll see a small
dot on the toolbar badge confirming it's active.
3. Pop the panel
Click the toolbar icon or press Alt+Shift+C to toggle filters. The popup has three tabs:
- Now — quick picks and live tune sliders
- Modes — the full preset library with a thumbnail gallery
- More — site memory, pipeline mode, license, themes
4. Try a preset
Click any thumbnail in Modes to apply it. The change happens instantly while the video keeps playing — no reload, no buffer.
5. Tune to taste
Hop back to Now → Tune to nudge brightness, contrast, saturation, and temperature. Filmina remembers your tweaks per site.
6. (Optional) Open the Studio
Press Alt+Shift+S while a video is playing to pop out the full Studio editor in its own picture-in-picture window. Studio gives you the advanced tune sliders, the FX stack, before/after compare, and custom-look management.
